Ray brings to ScippaGroup extensive executive management experience and creative capabilities. He currently holds the position of Internal Communications Director for ConocoPhillips, the third largest integrated oil and gas company in the United States, where he is responsible for developing print, digital and video communications for more than 40,000 employee and retirees around the world.

Since graduating from San Francisco State University with bachelor degrees in Creative Writing and Anthropology, Ray has followed two diverse career paths in academia and business. As an archaeologist and anthropologist from 1981 to 1987, Ray lived and worked in Guatemala, Belize, Honduras and Mexico. Specializing in photography, writing and publishing, he participated in projects funded by San Francisco State University, Amherst College, the National Science Foundation, Earthwatch International and Brigham Young University.

During his years in Belize, he produced the book "Belize Da Speak: An Oral History of Independence." From late 1982 until 1988 he was a contributing editor to the New World Archaeological Foundations Paper Series and his field and laboratory photography appeared in numerous scientific and scholarly journals. He made major contributions to books published on several pre-classic archaeological sites.

In addition to his current role at ConocoPhillips, Ray's corporate communications experience includes ten years with Continental Airlines, four years with Pennzoil-Quaker State Company and three years with J. Ray McDermott.
